How to Create WiFi Hotspot in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver or Linux Mint 19 Tara (Android is Supported)

  1. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver

The default network manager in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver supports to create WiFi hotspot (Android devices Supported)

1. First open Terminal and run

nm-connection-editor

2. Select Wi-fi and then click the + left bottom corner mark

3. Select Wi-fi and then click Create

4. Type in connection name, SSID, select Hotspot mode.
In Wifi Security tab, select WPA & WPA2 Personal and type in a password.
In IPv4 Settings tab, select mode “Share to other computers”

And Click SAVE

5. Connect via  gnome-control-center

Open Terminal And run

gnome-control-center 

 

6. Click Connect to hidden Networck

7. Select Your name conection and click Connect
